History
SIZY is a leading retail store, a wholesale business Qatari, multi-channel brand for plus size customers with a proud Qatari origin. We aim to make shopping confidence-boosting, sociable, and fun for our plus-size ladies, through our first branch in Doha and online in Middle Eastern countries. We give our customers around the Middle East a unique, differentiated, and exclusive mix of worldwide brands besides our own brands.
SIZY traces its history back to 2005 when the Qatari owner established our store at Alsaad Street in Doha selling expensive full-range fashion for plus size worldwide brands. In 2012 the owner invested in a new store for plus-size lingerie. In 2020 it began investing in wholesale and manufacturing businesses and had offices opened in Denmark and China.
Company Overview
SIZY was established in Doha, Qatar in 2005. Qatar is one of the countries that globally compete to maintain its economic stability and standard of living that welcomes everyone from different nationalities for employment and business investment.
The Chairwoman, Miss Huda Alhitmi had difficulty finding styles that would fit her physique in the market. This is common to the majority of Qatar’s population, especially women. Research showed that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have the highest prevalence of adult obesity and Qatar ranked number 3 with 33%. These challenges inspired the Chairwoman and come up with the idea to start a plus-size retail company in the country. Difficulties were turned into opportunities that benefited voluptuous women like her.
The company’s first partner/supplier was Ulla Popken. As Sizy grows, Miss Alhitmi recently started a multi-brand concept attracting additional partners/suppliers from different countries. With her in mind during the conceptualization, the target markets to be able to afford her brands without compromising the quality.
Today, SIZY is proudly building partnerships with new brands GOZZIP, STUDIO, SANDGAARD, PLAISIR, PONT NEUF, CHALOU, SEMPRE PIU, ADIA, AVENUE, GOOD DIVA, PAMELLAMANN, which gives a greater opportunity to our customers to discover on-trend fashion, designed to fit and flatter their curves.
